There are some rare moments in your life of otaku or cinephile when watching something and can't just believe in
anime/film being a complete materpiece... Yes, there are such ticks :)
Last night I watched Summer Wars and it was one of THOSE moments... It made my stomach hurt and kept my eyes watery the whole time because I was so amazed and shocked when suddenly put into extraordinary world of anime full of wonders! The plot IS really good and the whole story is really nicely directed. Backgronds are very detailed and created with high diligence just as the characters (also those currently remaining not in the foreground). It is the combination of Ghibli sceneries and Evangelion style character design - the golden combination that could be a dream of every true fan of anime. | ||

What is the factor of a good story? And the factor of a good anime? Well, for me, characters' charisma is the most anticing side of anime and it's definately something the BECK is full of! Although the series is lacking of visual appearance (character idealising deform.) it actually helpes to make story more believable and characters closer to us, much easier to identify with. This is, not only in anime but in every other kind of storytelling, what determines its succes. I've always loved music, especially rock music on which I grew but before watching Beck it was some time ago since I switched to something else. What Beck brought in to me was a total rock music renaissance of my life ^___^ ... along with a lesson of awareness and appreciation for classics of rock. I have also a friend who was rather malcontent, comedy-liking, rap-listener that time and after watching Beck he desired to learn how to play the guitar! This is what charisma means! As you can read, Beck is definalety worth seeing even if it doesn't concern your interests. It's one of the best anime ever and one of the best stories about music that were ever created! | ||

Entertaining, very very funny... and a great piece of classical music, but the animation isn't so excellent, a lot
of close-up only sequences without any movement. After seeing the sequels i raised my rating :) paris to finale are so brilliantly animated with so much movement of performers! every single classical music and anime fan would be raised into 7th heaven but still i have no health for romance... music only is fine for me ;p yet it was fun with nodame, i'm eager to seeing more anime like this so, minna, watch it carefully with your eyes closed from time to time kudasai >____< mukia! | ||
